These Terms & Conditions apply to Matchday Six, operated by Alex Norton ("Matchday Six", "we", "us" or "our").
By creating an account or entering Matchday Six, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Eligibility
Matchday Six is available to UK residents.
Players under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian to participate.
Where a player under 18 wins a prize, Matchday Six may require a parent or guardian to confirm eligibility and assist with prize fulfilment.
You must provide accurate information when creating and using your account.
Only one account is permitted per person.
We may disqualify entries where we reasonably believe multiple accounts have been created by the same person or someone has attempted to manipulate the game.
Matchday Six is free to enter. No purchase is necessary.
2. Manager names and public information
Players may choose a manager name or team name for use within Matchday Six.
Your chosen manager name may be visible to other Matchday Six players on leaderboards, results and other game screens.
You do not need to use your real name.
We recommend using a nickname or team name and avoiding your full name or other personal information.
Manager names must not contain:
- email addresses;
- phone numbers;
- home addresses;
- other people's personal information;
- abusive, threatening, discriminatory or seriously offensive content;
- content that impersonates another person or organisation; or
- other information that Matchday Six reasonably considers inappropriate for a public game.
Matchday Six may change, hide or remove a manager name where reasonably necessary to protect users or maintain the game.
Your email address will not be displayed publicly as part of Matchday Six.
3. How Matchday Six works
For each eligible fixture, players select one footballer for each of six roles:
- Bagsman
- The Provider
- Trigger Happy
- The Enforcer
- The Hook
- The Enemy
Each role awards points according to the scoring rules displayed within Matchday Six.
Players also select one eligible Chesterfield player as captain.
The captain earns double points for their role.
Additional bonuses, including any differential bonus, are awarded according to the rules displayed within the game.
Where applicable, players may be required to change at least one eligible Chesterfield selection from their previous fixture.
4. Entry deadlines
Selections and any required tie-break prediction must be submitted before the deadline displayed for the relevant fixture.
Once the deadline has passed, selections are locked and cannot normally be changed.
It is the player's responsibility to ensure their selections have been successfully submitted before the deadline.
Matchday Six is not responsible for entries that are incomplete, delayed or not successfully submitted because of circumstances outside our reasonable control.
5. Scoring
Points are calculated according to the scoring system displayed within Matchday Six.
Match statistics may be obtained from third-party football data sources.
Where different sources report an incident differently, Matchday Six will determine which source or statistic is used consistently for the purposes of scoring the game.
Matchday Six may correct scoring errors or amend results where underlying football data is subsequently corrected.
Our decision on the application of the published scoring rules is final, subject to correcting genuine errors.
6. Tie-breakers
Where two or more players finish level on Matchday Six points, the following tie-breakers apply in order:
- Exact final-score prediction.
- If there is still a tie, correct match result — home win, draw or away win.
- If there is still a tie, the highest Matchday Six score before captain double points are applied.
- If players remain tied and a prize is involved, the applicable prize is shared equally between the remaining eligible winners.
For score predictions, the result after 90 minutes plus stoppage time is used.
Extra time and penalty shoot-outs do not count.
7. Competitions and prizes
Competitions and prizes
Matchday Six may offer Matchday, monthly or other competitions with prizes.
The prizes available for the current competition period will be displayed within Matchday Six.
For October 2026, the current Chesterfield competition prizes are:
- £10 cash prize for the eligible winner of each Matchday competition.
- £50 cash prize for the eligible winner of the October monthly competition.
Entry is free and no purchase is necessary.
Future prize availability
Prizes are offered on a competition-period basis and are not guaranteed to continue indefinitely.
Matchday Six may change, reduce, replace or withdraw the availability of prizes for future competition periods.
Any change to the prize structure will only apply prospectively and will be communicated before the affected competition period begins.
In particular, Matchday Six may review the prize structure at the end of each calendar month and decide whether prizes will be offered during the following month.
A prize that has already been advertised for an active competition will not be withdrawn solely because Matchday Six subsequently decides to change the prize structure for future competitions.
The prize information displayed within Matchday Six at the beginning of the relevant competition period should be used to determine what prizes are available.
Winner fulfilment
Winners will be contacted using the email address associated with their Matchday Six account within 24 hours of the relevant results being announced. Winners are responsible for ensuring that email address is valid and accessible.
Matchday Six may request reasonable information necessary to verify eligibility (including identity and UK residency) and fulfil a prize.
Where appropriate, parent or guardian involvement may be required when fulfilling a prize for a winner under 18.
If players remain tied after all published tie-breakers have been applied, the applicable prize will be shared equally between the remaining eligible winners.
If a winner does not respond within 14 days of being contacted, Matchday Six reserves the right to treat the prize as unclaimed and determine an appropriate alternative outcome in accordance with the published competition rules.
Unless otherwise stated, prizes are non-transferable.
Where a prize is provided by a commercial partner rather than Matchday Six, this will be clearly identified.
For prize questions, contact hello@matchdaysix.co.uk.
8. Postponed, abandoned or cancelled fixtures
If a fixture is postponed before kick-off, Matchday Six may keep entries valid for the rearranged fixture, reopen selections or void the Matchday competition.
If a fixture is abandoned after kick-off, Matchday Six may void the fixture for game purposes or use an officially recognised result where appropriate.
Where this materially affects an active competition or prize, Matchday Six will communicate the approach taken.
9. Fair play
Matchday Six is intended to be a fair competition.
We may remove entries, withhold prizes or suspend accounts where we reasonably believe someone has:
- created multiple accounts;
- provided false eligibility information;
- attempted to manipulate scoring or results;
- exploited a technical vulnerability;
- interfered with another user's account; or
- otherwise acted dishonestly or contrary to the fair operation of the competition.
10. Technical problems
We will take reasonable steps to keep Matchday Six available and functioning correctly, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.
Where a significant technical issue affects a competition, Matchday Six may extend a deadline, void affected entries or take another reasonable step necessary to preserve the fairness of the competition.
Team News emails
Players may choose to receive optional Team News emails from Matchday Six. These emails may include starting lineups and a link to make Matchday Six selections.
Matchday Six does not guarantee that a Team News email will be sent or received before every fixture. Players remain responsible for submitting and confirming their entry before the applicable Matchday deadline.
Failure to receive a Team News email does not extend the entry deadline or entitle a player to submit or amend an entry after entries have closed.
Players can unsubscribe from Team News emails at any time.
11. Changes to Matchday Six
We may improve or modify the game, features, scoring rules or these Terms & Conditions.
We will not retrospectively change scoring rules for a completed competition except where necessary to correct an error.
Material changes affecting an active competition will be communicated where reasonably possible.
12. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
To the extent permitted by law, Matchday Six is not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by a player's failure to submit an entry correctly.
13. Independence
Matchday Six is an independent fan game.
Matchday Six is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or officially connected with Chesterfield Football Club, the English Football League (EFL), or any other football club, league or governing body unless expressly stated otherwise.
14. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
